Shiang Hai Restaurant @ Sunway Mentari

We heard that there is a vegetable sushi restaurant that was recommended by Ho Chak and friends. So, today (Boxing Day), we went to Sunway just to have lunch at this restaurant called ShiangHai Restaurant. It is just next to the McD opposite Sunway Pyramid. The shop looks like an ordinary shop lot, but the difference lies in its food. This is probably the only vegetarian restaurant that offers vegetarian sushi in Klang Valley.

There are quite a variety of food offerings by this restaurant. It has steak, fish, sushi, vegetables (which is of coz) and meat. However, these food are offered as vegetarian food. Since we were quite full, we ordered only a few dishes, which include its popular dish, sushi. We had "Lan Hua" sushi, which is blue (rice) in color, tomato fried rice, mix vegetable mushrooms and banana sushi.

"Lan Hua" sushi and mix vegetable mushrooms are recommended. The "Lan Hua" sushi tastes like a normal sushi offered by typical japanese or korean restaurants. But, whats contained inside this sushi is that it is all vegetable based. It has cucumber, rice, vegetarian bacon, sesame and seaweed.

Lan Hua sushi:

As for the banana sushi, its somehow different than the "Lan Hua" sushi. It is wrapped with thin popiah skin and contains banana, sesame, fresh cabbages and a bit of peanuts. It has a unik flavor and we love it so much. We will definitely revisit this restaurant because of its sushi.

Banana Sushi:

The tomato fried rice is another nice dish offers by the restaurant. Its more or less the same as the banana sushi because it is also wrapped with thin popiah skin. The color of this fried rice is rather simple but when it is eaten, it tastes really nice and tempting.

Tomato Fried Rice:

The mix vegetable mushrooms is just another typical dish eaten by vegetarians. It has many different kinds of vegetables such as carrots, brocolli, mushrooms, tiny jagung, ginger and others.

Mix Vegetable Mushrooms:

Finally, we tapao-ed another kind of sushi, which is called mix vegetable sushi. It is wrapped with both thin popiah skin and seaweed.
