Loi Fatt @ Cheras, Kajang

There is this restaurant recommended by some of my friends but somehow could not find it in the world wide web space. So, we decided to 'hunt' down for the this restaurant, which was told to us that its specialties are seafood and more importantly, its NOT THAT EXPENSIVE. Yesterday, we went to this restaurant called Loi Fatt Seafood Restaurant, located within Cheras.

The place is rather small but its always packed, especially in the weekends. And most of the time, its seafood is already sold out by 8pm. This place is more family-oriented and you can actually see mainly families when you are dining there. Since its famous dishes are mainly seafood, we ordered a fish and la-la on top of its home-made taufu and Mongolian-style fried chicken.

The Nyonya Assam Fish:

Of coz, we are not sure how it is cooked but from the way we look at it, it has a lot of vegetables ranging from lady fingers to fresh tomatoes. The fish is fried earlier, and cooked with its home-made sauce that has a bit of sourness and not that spicy. The fish has a aromatic smell and it is also crunchy as it is fried before hand.

Home-made Taufu:

This home-made taufu is the softest and smoothest taufu that we have ever tried in the Klang Valley. Its cooked with a lot of mushrooms, chicken fillets, green beans and spring onions. Like many would say, eat it while its hot. The sauce is just nice, perfect to eat together with white rice.

Sotong (Squid) Salad:

We were recommended by the chef that one of its another popular dishes is the Squid Salad. This looks easy to cook as it has probably only squids spread with mayonnaise. But, if it is so easy to cook, then everybody would have cooked it. So, we think that there is some own recipe that is used to cook the salad. It tastes very nice, especially the mayonnaise that blended well into the squid.

Fried La-La:

This is a 'ching' fried la-la. The la-las are tiny but its flesh are big. When its inside the mouth, it has this chewy feeling with some gingers and cili padi.

Mongolian-style Fried Chicken:

This is a new dish to us and probably to many of you. We have never seen such a dish before and we decided to order it. The sauce is a bit like curry but it doesn't really taste like curry. As the chicken is fried before hand, it tastes just nice.

To many who fancy food, especially in the Klang Valley, you should have a try at this restaurant. We ordered 5 dishes (mainly seafood) and tea plus some added rice. It all came out to be around RM70. And that is for 5 persons. Its not that easy to find this place if there is no one to guide you. The address is as below:
